A9 launched a beta of Yellow Pages this evening. They’ve got the same DHTML interactive map that Yahoo has, but differentiating feature is an image of every business listed.

This year seems like every business is finding a way to do things in a new, simple and quick way. Amazon did it by just mounting a camera in a car and drive around photographing the business along the road. That would definitely seem easier than sendin

This year seems like every business is finding a way to do things in a new, simple and quick way. Amazon did it by just mounting a camera in a car and drive around photographing the business along the road. That would definitely seem easier than sending a bunch of photographers around the city and take the images one by one.
This year is also the year of Ruby on Rails. A fast growing and highly active developed web framework for Ruby. It would be nice to see Amazon take another leap and move to this new, simple and easy to manage framework.
I think Ruby is way better than PHP4 or PHP5 since its easier to manage. With Ruby on Rails in the picture writting large web applications is a piece of cake. Everyone knows how hard it is to manage a PHP based application after its gone into production.
Hopefully with my upcoming paper on distributed ruby and Ruby on Rails more companies such as Amazon would decide to make a plunge in to it.
